WVBI COVID-19 Update for February 10, 2022

No updates from the Health Center. We’re now at six cases two weeks old or less that tested positive on the island.

State report released yesterday afternoon continues to show good trends overall even with some typical post weekend upticks. There were an average of 3,764 new cases a day over the two days covered in the report and about 18 new deaths a day. Seven-day running average for new cases is down again to 3,890 from 5,501. Deaths including reclassifications remains unchanged at 82, but the rate for newly reported deaths continues to drop. In our region there were 78 new cases a day and seven total deaths. Charlevoix had five new cases a day. The deaths were in Benzie and Emmet with two each and Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Otsego with one each. For hospital occupancy, there was a slight uptick overall that is typical for Monday reports. The COVID-19 rates are stable. No change at our local hospitals.
