Community Calendar Report for Thursday, March 12th, 2026.
First some news…
 
Stryker Corp. based in Portage, Michigan and has offices around this country and the world, is experiencing a severe, global disruption to their Microsoft environment due to a cyberattack. The disruption is impacting all Stryker laptops and systems connected to their network, but there is no indication of ransomware or malware.
Employees are instructed not to connect to Stryker’s network through any device or mobile apps. The company is working with security experts and law enforcement to address the disruption.
 
Falling ice closures are possible on the Mackinac Bridge due to recent freezing rain and predicted gusty winds. The Mackinac Bridge Authority will close the bridge for safety if ice falls from the towers and cables.
 
Ticket sales for the 2026 Warblers on the Water events, May 22-25, will begin this week in March. The festival will feature new field trips to celebrate Great Lakes Islands biodiversity.

America 250 Writing Challenge seeks submissions on America 250, with selected works compiled into a book. Visit the library for more details.
 
Ben Traverse and Nick Veine will perform at the BIC Center on March 12th at 6:30 p.m. to kick off Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations. Tickets are $20, with free admission for kids 17 and under. Tickets.biccenter.org
