First, some news… Team BIROBOT just wrapped up their first competition of the season in Welland, Ontario yesterday, and they did pretty good! They finished with a 6-6 record and even made it to the playoffs as the #8 Alliance Team captains. Though they were knocked out in the semi-finals, they didn’t come home empty-handed – they won the Judges Award for their unique efforts and team dynamics! Way to go, team! And guess what? They’re already gearing up for their next challenge! This coming weekend (Friday through Sunday), they’ll be competing at the Berrien Springs District Event. Want to support our Beaver Island robotics superstars? Head over to birobot.org where you can become a sponsor or grab some cool team merch! And if you can’t make it to the events in person, no worries – you can follow all the action and watch livestreams on TheBlueAlliance.com. Let’s all send our best wishes to the Team #6098 as they head into their next competition! Go BIROBOT! |

TRAFFIC: None. But the roads are super slick after the snow and glaze of icing yesterday. So, let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone. |
On this day in 1876 The first discernible speech is transmitted over a telephone system when inventor Alexander Graham Bell summons his assistant in another room by saying, “Mr. Watson, come here; I want you.” Bell had received a comprehensive telephone patent just three days before. |
Our Merriam Webster Word of the Day Wend = Wend is a literary word that means “to move slowly from one place to another usually by a winding or indirect course”; wending is traveling or proceeding on one’s way in such a manner. // Hikers wend along the marked trails to the top of the mountain, which provides a panoramic view of the area towns. |
Now, to wrap up for this Beaver Island Monday… |
Here’s a thought for the day – Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – Albert Einstein |
On a lighter note – If your eyes hurt after you drink coffee, you have to take the spoon out of the cup. |
