WVBI COVID-19 Update for March 7, 2021

Yet another no news is good news day on COVID-19 data front at the Health Center. Their tally has no positive tests in the last two weeks and no tests pending. They did update the totals for February over the weekend to add three more tests, but they were all back negative.

Data from the state released on Friday continues to show good trends. New case counts and new deaths continue to fall with the running averages now at 830 for new cases and 47 for deaths including reclassifications. There were 20 new cases and four deaths in our region during the two days covered by the report. Four of the new cases were in Charlevoix County. The deaths were in Antrim, Emmet, Grand Traverse and Kalkaska with one each. Hospital utilization overall is near normal. COVID-19 occupancy remains elevated but is down dramatically from its peaks. Locally, there are no COVID-19 patients at Munson in Charlevoix. McLaren in Petoskey has six with one in the I-C-U.
