Coronavirus-19 is changing the landscape quickly across our state and community. Wednesday, the B-I-C-S robotics team effectively had its season ended and Beaver Island students away at college received messages that their classes would all be conducted remotely. This morning, our governor has announced a mandatory closure of all public schools in Michigan. For B-I-C-S, classes continue today, but that it likely to be it for the next three weeks. There will be a parent meeting at school to go over the details. Principal Wil Cwikiel says the school and teachers will devised plans to continue learning at home making use of the one-to-one laptop policy and other technology at school. The strings concert planned for this afternoon will go on, but it is strongly encouraged that only family members plan to attend. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
