Weekend Community Calendar for Friday, November 1st, 2019

From studios in the BIC Center on America’s Emerald Isle, this is the WVBI Weekend Community Calendar for Friday, November 1st, 2019.
Here’s what’s happening on your island…
Tomorrow, Pickleball at the BIC Center from 10 to noon. Movies at the BIC Center, too: The psychological thriller Luce at 4 and a heart string pulling documentary: The Sentence at 7.
Sunday, services at Holy Cross, the Lighthouse Fellowship and the Christian Church. Times and details are on the calendar. Also Sunday, a special meet and greet for the new director at the Health Center. That’ll be from 10:30 to 12:30. They’ll have some refreshments to share, so please drop by and say hello to the new director of our island health center.
Quiet next Monday.
Next Tuesday, Pickleball from 10 to noon here at the BIC Center. Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program at 10:30 up in the Hangout. Airport Commission had scheduled a meeting for next Tuesday, but that now has been moved to the 12th, so if you wanted to go cross that off your list for now. Still on for Tuesday afternoon is the regular B-I-C-S Board Policy Committee meeting. That’s at school at 3:30. And next Tuesday evening, Ladies Shuffle Board at the Shamrock. That’ll be at 6. Continues weekly through next April.
Next Wednesday, the Historical Society’s Picnic at the Point series continues. Noon out at Whiskey Point. And, next Wednesday evening, the St. James Township board meets at 5:30 at the Township Hall. Also next Wednesday evening, the Conference on Faith continues here at the BIC Center. That’ll be at 6.
Still one board looking for members…
And, the Health Center is also looking for two members for its board. Again, details in the Calendar. Applications are due by November 14, 2019.

Now, to wrap up for this Beaver Island for Friday…
Here’s a thought for the day from Will Rogers “Chaotic action is preferable to orderly inaction.”
On a lighter note: How do you know if you are talking to an extraterrestrial? They ask lots of probing questions.
