St James Township Coronavirus Emergency Measures Statement #2020.11.17.02

ESTABLISHING EMERGENCY MEASURES DUE TO CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

Based upon St James Township Approved Resolution #2020.03.20.02

 

WHEREAS, on March 20, 2020, The St James Township Board approved a resolution granting certain authority to the township supervisor to implement emergency measures deemed necessary during the Coronavirus pandemic; and WHEREAS, in response to Michigan DHHS Epidemic Emergency Order under MCL 333.2253, which enacts a three-week pause of certain activities and takes effect on November 18, 2020 at 12:01 AM, and remains in effect through December 8, 2020 at 11:59 PM.

 

IT IS HEREBY STATED, that the Township Supervisor implements the following emergency measures to implement the Emergency Order.

 

The Emergency Measures are as Follows:

 

1. Require all committee meetings and township board meetings to be cancelled or held via teleconference until December 8, 2020, and may be extend to December 31, 2020; and

2. Cancel all non-essential access to the Governmental Center and the Township Hall between now and December 8, 2020, and may be extend to December 31, 2020; and

3. Authorize the Clerk and Treasurer to carry out the necessary payment of bills without board action for the month of December 2020; and

4. Requires that all township employees who are able to work from home to do so until December 8, 2020, and, may be extend to December 31, 2020; and

5. Requires that all township employees who must work at the Governmental Center coordinate work hours to minimize overlap of such hours until December 8, 2020, and, may be extend to December 31, 2020; and

6. Recognizes that the Supervisor is authorized to implement any State or Federal mandates that may be issued during the course of emergency circumstances related to the pandemic; and

7. Recognizes that the Supervisor is authorized as the official contact and spokesperson for the townships during the course of emergency circumstances related to the pandemic.

 

These measures take effect on November 18, 2020 at 12:01 AM.
