NEWS
Note on the forum from our Chamber of Commerce:
Island News From The United Kingdom
THere is a nice note and link from the DNR’s Al Stewart about a Beaver Island story published in the United Kingdom.
Beaver Island Community School has formed a team to compete in the First Robotics Challenge. They’ll learn this year’s challenge on January 9th and then spend January through March building a robot to compete against other schools in trying to beat the challenge. The team is still looking for folks that can help as mentors with all aspects of building the robot—from design, to mechanical to programming and everything in between. If you’d like to join the fun, send an email to me, as it happens, to me (I’m one of the coaches) at kevin.boyle@wvbi.net. If you’d like to learn more about the competition, checkout the Michigan FRC website at firstmichigan dot org.
A nice note of thanks from Mary Kenwabikise on the forum thanking those here who have donated and sent their wishes to her. Best wishes and prayers continue go out to her and her family.
