The BI Human Services Commission is a collaboration of Island agencies and organizations dedicated to identifying, and assisting in providing access to, programs and services to enhance the human needs of the Beaver Island Community. We are asking for your ideas about what kind of educational programs you would be interested in having here. Some examples are home winterization, Internet safety, boating safety, home exercise information, insurance assistance, substance abuse information. We want to hear from everyone – young, old(er), full-time residents, summer folks. You can fill out a suggestion form at the Community Center or the Island churches. Or you can e-mail suggestions email@example.com if you prefer.
Don’t be shy – all ideas will be considered. Thanks for your input!

Event To Help Camp Quality
Come one… come all! We will be making tied-fleece blankets tomorrow (Thursday, 7-Jul-16) from 7 to 9 pm – for campers attending the Traverse area Camp Quality. Camp Quality provides a great opportunity for kids battling cancer to go to camp – free of cost.
Location tomorrow: We’ll be at Gregg Fellowship Hall adjoining the Christian Church; plenty of room for lots of people…. bring a pair of fabric scissors or similar if you have them.
So far, we have completed a total of 22 blankets out of the 60 needed – thanks to all! Call me at 2824 if you have questions, and see you then!
Judi Meister said that there is an event at the church at the same time. Please use the parking lot further away from the church.

Hey, Let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.
To Lucas and all our listeners, Soren Kierkegaard once said, “life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.”
On a lighter note, if you are afraid of elevators, take steps to avoid them.
That’s the WVBI Community Calendar for Thursday July 7th, 2016. I’m Greg Doig at WVBI‚ the Voice of Beaver Island.
