NEWS
Yesterday was a fantastic celebration of our Nation’s Independence Day, right here on Beaver Island. From all the great parade floats and participants, to the thousands that lined the streets of the route, it was a great family and friend time here on the best place in the country to celebrate the 4th of July.
WVBI had some of its family in the parade and had the honor of bringing BIROBOT and the team, to the event. All the floats and vehicles were outstanding. I may be a little bit biased on this, but BIROBOT was one of the big hits of the parade. It dazzled the crowd with its speed and maneuvers and made all the kids that had candy thrown their way delighted. The team members had a fun time and loved seeing the great response to them and their robot from all in attendance. Don’t forget to visit their Facebook page BIROBOT for updates and the website birobot.org for some videos and pictures over the next few days.
Again, the fireworks last night were a blast, pun intended and it also is one of the great events here on Beaver Island that amazes and delights those that watch, each and every time.
Thanks also to Denis Winslow and Phil Becker for their live broadcast out front of the BICC and the great production of the reading of the Declaration of Independence by all that read and to Kevin Boyle for producing that splendid show. Thanks to all at WVBI and all here on Beaver Island that support WVBI, the parade and make the 4th of July what it is, Great!

Word of the day: orthography (awr-THOG-ruh-fee) which means the art of writing words with the proper letters, according to accepted usage; correct spelling. Orthography stems from the Greek word orthós meaning “straight, upright, correct.” It entered English in the early 1400s.

Hey, Let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.
To Lucas and all our listeners, Lewis Carrol once said, “if you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.”
On a lighter note, I recently sold my vacuum cleaner, all it did was gather dust.
