First some news…

North Sky Raptor Sanctuary has launched a $100,000 donor match to finalize preparations for a new raptor rehabilitation, research, and education center at Camp Greilick in Grand Traverse County.

The nonprofit has already secured nearly $1 million toward the project, which will feature a 4,900-square-foot facility and an interpretive trail housing 10 non-releasable ambassador raptors.

The new center aims to address regional capacity limitations for treating injured birds of prey, while the organization continues to seek additional sponsorships for specific facility features and equipment.

On October 26, 2026, the Michigan attorney general announced that Michigan has joined a lawsuit against Dollar General.

The legal action is a joint effort involving the attorneys general of 20 states and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The lawsuit alleges that Dollar General has been charging customers prices that are higher than the prices displayed or advertised for various products.

Now, to wrap up for this Beaver Island Tuesday…

Here’s a thought for the day from singer/song writer Paul Simon: The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls and tenements halls and whispered in the sounds of silence.

And on a lighter note… Why do zombies all speak Latin? It’s a dead language.

That’s the W-V-B-I Community Calendar Report for this Beaver Island Tuesday, October 27th, 2026. I’m Greg Doig reporting from W-V-B-I’s Langford Family Studios wishing you a great day and asking: why not go ahead and make it the best day ever? And thanks for listening.
