We’re pleased to let you know we have a spiffy new website for WVBI.
- You can use it to listen online with a built-in station player that can provide you all sorts of information about the music we play. You’ll find song lyrics, album and artist information and more. To listen, just press the play button in the station player bar at the bottom of the page.
- There’s also a Community Calendar with information about events all over Beaver Island. We’re trying to make it complete with entries for BICC sponsored events as well as other events sponsored by other island organizations — including BICS, BIHS, the Chamber and the BI Cultural Arts Society, among others. We’ll also have entries for island board meetings that are open to the public. Want to see your event on the calendar? Just send us an email at calendar@wvbi.net.
- Keep up on what’s happening at WVBI with our news posts. You’ll find news about events on the station and at the BICC plus the text of our daily current events updates.
- Want to know what’s on when at the station? There’s complete program schedule with detailed information about all of our programming.
- Have an idea for a show or want to make a suggestion? Use the handy contact form.
But, enough reading about it. Dial it up and have a look at www.wvbi.net.
Mark your calendar! Join us February 26th for the 2nd Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament and Chili/Soup Cook Off

Radio Players News
We met, and are planning another meet Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Community Center. All interested please attend.
Basically, we looked at scripts and are encouraging all to look at some on genericradio.com to bring to discussion. Scripts we looked at include a Burns and Allen, Buck Rogers, The Creaking Door and one of the Lights Out series.
Depending on player numbers we’d like to tape 1-2 a month to be aired whenever the radio station wants to do so. Little rehearsal, no memorization, lots of fun… please join us.
If you can’t make it but are still interested, please let me know.
Jacque
P.S. We are considering some for the kids to do too. If you find any, please bring them along. Some have expressed an interest

Word of the day: reify (REE-uh-fahy, REY-) which means to convert into or regard as a concrete thing. Reify can be traced to the Latin rēs meaning “thing.” The suffix -ify, a variant of -fy, means “to make,” “to cause to be,” “render,” and is used in the formation of verbs.

Roads
Roads have a mean mix of ice and ice covered snow, so as always, let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.
