WVBI COVID-19 Update for March 3, 2022

More good news in the State’s latest COVID-19 data update. Average for new cases over the two-day reporting period was 1,053 and for deaths it was 13. That brings the seven-day running averages to 1,012 for new cases and 51 for deaths including reclassifications. There were 207 reclassified deaths in the report. Charlevoix had no new cases and no deaths during the reporting period. First time we’ve seen that since last fall. In our region, there were 51 new cases and six deaths total. The deaths were in Grand Traverse with three, Antrim with two and Kalkaska with one.

Nothing new on COVID-19 data front from the Health Center. Their tally has no positive tests in the last two weeks and no tests pending.

Our local health department has issued a press release noting that Charlevoix and Emmet Counties are now at low risk for COVID-19, which means that masking is no longer recommended except on public transportation, for those with special risks or in congregate communities and for those who have tested positive for the virus.
