WVBi COVID-19 Update for June 15, 2020

Even though the COVID-19 death toll in Charlevoix went from one to two persons this weekend, it was quiet on the COVID-19 front with overall numbers looking stable. 180 new cases were reported on Saturday and 189 Sunday. 22 deaths Saturday and 3 on Sunday.
Statewide data on COVID-19 continues to look good. Yesterday, 218 new cases were reported and 26 deaths. That brings total confirmed cases in the state to 59,990 and total deaths to 5,745 deaths.
Running averages continue to look good as well. Seven day moving averages stand at 160 cases 16 deaths. Those numbers are some of the best since the crisis began to take hold in mid-March.
Island situation is reported to be the same. 80 tests run. 77 of those are back as negative. 2 pending. Still only one back as positive.
In our region, total confirmed case count is up two over the weekend to 224. As we noted, the death toll ticked up 1 over the weekend to 21—that after being stable since May 12th. County by county, Grand Traverse is up one confirmed case to 35 and Charlevoix is up one to 17 cases and added one death over the weekend bring that grim number to 17. Otherwise, data are unchanged, but in today’s script online if you are interested. [Otsego confirmed case count is at 102 with 10 deaths. Emmet is at 21 with two deaths. Grand Traverse is at 35 cases with five deaths. Charlevoix has 17 cases including one from the island, and two deaths. Kalkaska has 20 confirmed cases two deaths. Antrim 12 cases, still no deaths, Leelanau at 11, no deaths. And Benzie is at five cases and no deaths.] Up in the U-P, they are up one case to 126 confirmed cases. Death toll is stable at 16.
