Health Center announces process to sign up for COVID-19 Vaccinations

The Health Center has posted the procedure to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine shot if you are in the next priority group to receive it.  On the island, the most prevalent members of that group will be teachers and people over 65.

UPDATE:  It appears that this signup procedure will not work during off hours.  If you are having trouble signing up, the Health Center suggests you wait until the Health Department is open on Monday when their answering system is expected to work as described below:

Protocol for Island Residence Seeking Covid Vaccination

Call: Health Department at: 1-800-432-4121

Follow Prompts:
Press 2 (Register)
Press 1 (even though it says 1A)

Let the Registration desk know that you are from Beaver Island and you were instructed to get on the list for the Covid shot. The Health Department will then schedule you for the vaccine, whether it is the next planned visit on January 19 or the next date after that, which is yet to be determined! The more people that call and register will lead to the Health Department sending more vaccinations over!

Your Covid shots will be administered at the Beaver Island Rural Health Center.
