Peaine Twp mtg wed july 13th 7pm at Township hall.

Here’s an update on the EMS and air ambulance situation on the island.  There is a meeting tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 pm at Peaine Township Hall to discuss the future of EMS on the island.  Meantime, it appears that as of next Tuesday, barring any change, there will be no paramedic on the island and thus no way to initiate an air ambulance flight from the island without getting a paramedic here first—essentially calling an off island provider to do the transport rather than using Island Airways.  The result is that there could be a substantial delay in getting the patient to the hospital. We’ll have a reporter at the meeting and expect to be able to provide more information on Friday.

Still no delays to report.

Hey, Let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.

To Lucas and all our listeners, George Bernard Shaw once said, “We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.” So, be wise!

On a lighter note, what did one eye say to the other eye? Between you and me, something smells!

That’s the WVBI Community Calendar for Wednesday July 13th, 2016. I’m Greg Doig at WVBI‚ the Voice of Beaver Island.
