Word of the day: raconteuse (rak-uh n-TOOZ, -TOOS) which means a woman who is skilled in relating stories and anecdotes interestingly. Raconteuse is the feminine form of the French term raconteur, which in turn derives from the verb raconter meaning “to tell.” It entered English in the mid-1800s.

Outro

To Lucas and all our listeners, the late Admiral William S. Halsey said, “All problems become smaller if, instead of indulging them, you confront them. Touch a thistle timidly and it pricks you; grasp it boldly, and its spines crumble.” Not sure if that would work the same with a porcupine, but tackling problems is the way to go.

That’s the WVBI Community Calendar for Friday, April 8th,2016. I’m Greg Doig at WVBI ‚the Voice of Beaver Island.
