First some news…
Bovine tuberculosis was detected in a Charlevoix County dairy herd, prompting further testing and potential quarantines. The outbreak originated from a positive test at a processing plant. Officials confirmed that no products from the infected animal entered the food supply chain. More details www.michigan.gov/mdard
2026 Warblers on the Water event schedule will be announced in late February. This year’s event will feature new field trips to celebrate the biodiversity of the Great Lakes Islands.

America 250 Writing Challenge invites submissions on the topic of America 250, with selected works compiled into a book for sale next summer. Here’s an idea if you were wondering what to write, Beaver Island’s place in America’s history
Ben Traverse and Nick Veine will perform at the BIC Center on March 12th at 6:30 p.m. to kick off Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations. Tickets are $20, with free admission for kids 17 and under. Tickets.biccenter.org
