Food note – Eating locally-grown produce supports the regional economy and reduces environmental impact. Seasonal produce, like asparagus, leafy greens, tomatoes, and berries, offer peak nutritional value and are often more affordable.

On our Birthday List: Brett Maudrie is celebrating today.  Also, not on the list my sister Margie and my cousin Coley Wood Happy Birthday to Brett, Margie and Coley and if we missed you on the list, Happy Birthday to you too from everyone at the BIC Center and WVBI.
TRAFFIC: No delays inbound or outbound to the airports. The Island Beltway is running smoothly save for occasional culvert digging delays on East Side Drive. There are no bridge delays. But, hey, let’s be careful out there as traffic increases with seasonal residents returning every day and the kids and all out enjoying the warmer weather.
On This Day in 1881 Leo Tolstoy, a wealthy Russian nobleman and acclaimed author, embarked on a pilgrimage in 1881, grappling with his spiritual beliefs and desire to renounce his possessions. Despite his literary success, including War and Peace and Anna Karenina, Tolstoy struggled with his responsibilities as a landlord and his yearning for a simpler, ascetic life.
Our Merriam Webster Word of the Day Foibles are minor flaws or shortcomings in someone’s character or behavior. In fencing, foible refers to the weakest part of a sword’s blade, between the middle and point.
// You have to be able to laugh at your own foibles.

Now, to wrap up for this Beaver Island Wednesday…
Here’s a thought for the day from Leo Tolstoy who wrote, “Let us forgive each other. If we can forgive each other, then we can live in peace.”

On a lighter note… I heard a person say, What rhymes with oranges. I said no it doesn’t.
