The Michigan State Police have issued a warning regarding a delivery scam targeting customers of cell phone and electronic orders. The scammers, posing as representatives of Spectrum, instruct victims to return their devices promptly, alleging an error in the order.
In exchange for returning the device, the scammers provide a shipping label and gift card. However, this scam involves shipping the device to the scammers, leaving the customer liable for the shipping costs and vulnerable to identity theft.

On this date in 1945 Japan surrendered to the Allies aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, ending World War II. The surrender followed the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the Allied demand for Japan’s unconditional surrender.
