Kensington Metropark in Milford hosted the 2026 PDGA World Championships on two courses — including Toboggan, the legendary layout Jim Kenner built for Worlds back in 2000.
When it ended, Silas Schultz won the Open title in a playoff over Rainers Balodis. Thirty thousand dollars for first.
Concord Academy Boyne, a tuition-free public charter school in Boyne City, has closed just days before the 2026-27 school year was set to begin. The closure affects about 100 families and 35 staff members. The school’s board cited ongoing financial struggles, including a failed short-term borrowing plan and mounting debts, as reasons for the shutdown. Despite efforts to balance the budget, the school was unable to sustain operations. Staff and families are now seeking new arrangements, with the board assisting in transferring student records and providing information on benefits for staff.
