First some news…
Consumers Energy crews worked through the night, restoring power to over 50,000 Michigan customers after a first round of heavy storms and flooding. While 500 crews remain in the field, outages persist this morning near Houghton Lake, Harrison, and Ogemaw County .
Stay alert: more severe weather is forecast for today, including a risk of tornadoes . Officials urge you to charge your devices now, unplug sensitive electronics, and stay far away from any downed power lines
Tickets for summer events at the BIC Center and Baroque on Beaver are on sale. You’ll find them at tickets dot bic center dot org, where you’ll also find links to tickets for all other summer events on the Island including the Music Festival and the Feile.

TRAFFIC: No delays inbound or outbound to the airports. The Island Beltway is running smoothly save for occasional culvert digging delays on East Side Drive. There are no bridge delays. But, hey, let’s be careful out there as traffic increases with seasonal residents returning every day and the kids and all out enjoying the warmer weather.

Our Merriam Webster Word of the Day Saturnine is a literary word that typically describes people who are glum and grumpy, or things that suggest or express gloom. It can also mean “slow to act or change.”
// A walk in the sunshine can improve your mood significantly, raising the spirits of even the most saturnine among us.
