Community Calendar Report for Wednesday, November 19, 2025

Community Calendar Report for Wednesday, November 19th, 2025.
First some news…
Two key sections of the popular Little Traverse Wheelway trail in Charlevoix Township are now closed due to safety concerns. The 0.6-mile boardwalk over a marsh has been shut down after officials found its support structure was failing and it was gradually sinking.
Meanwhile, the scenic “Miracle Mile” portion, closed since 2019 due to erosion and a bluff collapse, remains off-limits. Repair costs for that section alone are estimated at nearly 20 million dollars. The Little Traverse Wheelway, a 26-mile rail-to-trail route, attracts around 116,000 annual visitors and brings about 10 million dollars to the local economy, but both closures are set to have a major impact on outdoor enthusiasts and businesses alike.
