Community Calendar For Thursday, November 21,2024

Community Calendar for Thursday, November 21st, 2024.
First some news…from the BI Forum
The Ellen Welke Memorial Toy Drive is Happening Now!

This is the 33rd year we’ve run this Toy Drive.
The toys go to children who live in Charlevoix County and qualify to receive through the Charlevoix Dept of Health & Human Services, including Beaver Island children, of course!

Toys need to be new. Please don’t gift-wrap them. That will be done after determining for which child the toy is best suited. (We need toys from infants to high school.)

You can drop the toys off to Connie Boyle at home, leave it in her car (or Neal’s) or the collection boxes at Island Airways Airport Terminals on Beaver Island or in Charlevoix.)

The main date to donate toys by is DECEMBER 7th. But we will keep collecting toys all the way up until Christmas. The 7th gives the Dept enough time to make sure all children on their list are “covered” – in case they need to go shopping.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Connie Boyle (231-448-2491)

Our Merriam Webster Word of Day
tenacious
Something described as tenacious cannot easily be stopped or pulled part; in other words, it is firm or strong. Tenacious can also describe something—such as a myth—that continues or persists for a long time, or someone who is determined to do something.

Now, to wrap up for this Beaver Island Thursday…
Here’s a thought for the day

On a lighter note…
What’s the difference between a well dressed man on a bicycle and a poorly dressed man on a unicycle? Attire
