Pickleball @ Beaver Island Community Center

Join us for Pickleball every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  In the cold season, we play at the BIC Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to noon and 3:30 to 5 (except no Thursday morning games until after Christmas).  We also play on Saturdays from 10 to noon.  And, pick-up ganes happen, too, when the space is available. 

Pickleball is great exercise. Anyone can play.  We get a little competitive sometimes, but mostly we play for fun–and we be sure to make room for novices.  So join us for great exercise, comraderie and fun.

C3F Grant Deadline: Scholarships @ Charlevoix County Community Foundation

Sunday Mass @ Holy Cross Catholic Church

Jim Siler and the congregation of Holy Cross Catholic Church invite you to join them for Mass on Sunday mornings at 9:30.  A Vigil Mass is celebrated Saturday afternoons at 4.  Mass is also celbrated Tuesday through Friday morning at 9 with a Rosary following Mass on Tuesdays and Eucharistic Adoration following Mass on Fridays.

Mid-American Model United Nations Conference @ Radisson Plaza Hotel at Kalamazoo Center

Students from Beaver Island Community School will be participating in Mid-American Model United Nations March 5-7, 2020 in Kalamazoo, MI, accompanied by 7-12 social studies teacher, Adam Richards. Elisha Richards, Quintan De Laat, and Zander Drost will be attending the large United Nations simulation as delegates of Mexico, while Elsie Burton, Ash Antkoviak, Jared Robert, and Olga Burton will be attending as delegates of Colombia. The committees for whose deliberations they are preparing are Disarmament And International Security; Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural; Science and Technology; and, Legal. The specific issues for which they are preparing to debate, causus, and aim to resolve with complex resolutions range from those dealing with human trafficking to corporate tax evasion, government corruption to environmental degradation, the weaponization of outer space to preventing terrorists from acquiring weapons of mass destruction.
