The course is open to drivers of all ages and costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Payment by cash or check only will be required on the date of the course at check-in. Checks should be made payable to AARP.
Participants can register for the Beaver Island course by calling Ann at 231-448-2022. At our website, we’ve tried to include everything, but if we’ve missed your event you can easily add it yourself by using the handy “Post Your Event” button in the upper right of the calendar or by sending an email with the details to calendar@wvbi.net<mailto:calendar@wvbi.net>. And, we can make it easy for your events to show up in a nice calendar on your website, too, so you only have to post them once. Your website can show only your events or those plus other categories from the calendar that you choose.

If you are packing up to head off-island after your summer here, remember that the Pantry can use many of those foodstuffs that you don’t want to carry home with you. For your convenience, there are collection baskets at the Beaver Island Christian Church, Beaver Island Community Center, Beaver Island Rural Health Center, Fresh Air, Holy Cross Church and Island Airways.

We can accept unopened, unexpired non-perishable food items. Cash donations are tax-deductible and are always appreciated as well. Checks can be made payable to the Beaver Island Christian Church, PO Box 21, Beaver Island, 49782. Please write Food Pantry on the memo line. Or you can use the Donation button at the bottom of the home page at beaverislandnews.com, Joe Moore’s News on the Net.

Hey, let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.

To Lucas and all our listeners, great leaders produce even better leaders.

On a lighter note, if you’re going to try your hand at wood carving, start out by going whittle by whittle!!!

That’s the WVBI Community Calendar for Wednesday September 13th, 2017.
I’m Greg Doig at WVBI‚ the Voice of Beaver Island. Make today the best ever, and thank you for listening!
