At our website, we’ve tried to include everything, but if we’ve missed your event you can easily add it yourself by using the handy “Post Your Event” button in the upper right of the calendar or by sending an email with the details to<>. And, we can make it easy for your events to show up in a nice calendar on your website, too, so you only have to post them once. Your website can show only your events or those plus other categories from the calendar that you choose.

To help coordinate the events we’ve taken the major events for Summer 2018 and compiled them into a nifty little Celebrate Summer 2018 online calendar. Just point your browser at to get the lowdown on everything planned so far for next summer. Then check back from time to time as more events will be added as dates are firmed up.

Hey, let’s be careful out there. Especially in the school zone.

To Lucas, Sophia and all our listeners, writing is the way we get our soul into words. Spend some time writing and share your soul.
On a lighter note, some days I weigh myself and wonder if there is some way I can grow taller!!!

Story Corps Friday
Fridays we hear from StoryCorps… these conversations between friends and loved ones are often revealing…

And today, we’ll hear from a retired Marine who kept a secret for his entire 25 year military career.

His name is Donnie Dunagan… he’s a highly decorated, Vietnam veteran who says that the Marine Corps was a “perfect fit” for him…that is,… as long as no one knew about something from his past.

As a young child, Dunagan had been the voice and facial model for Bambi… in Walt Disney’s 1942 animated movie about a young deer learning the ropes of life in the forest.

At 80 years old, Dunagan sat down with his wife, Dana, for StoryCorps.
Outro: That’s retired Marine and voice of Bambi, Donnie Dunagan… with his wife Dana at StoryCorps in San Angelo, Texas. Hear more on the StoryCorps podcast. It’s at iTunes and NPR dot org.
Do you have a story to tell? Let us know about it by sending an email to programming at w-v-b-I dot net.

That’s the WVBI Community Calendar for Friday March 9th, 2018.

I’m Greg Doig at WVBI‚ the Voice of Beaver Island. Make today the best day ever, and thank you for listening!
