Today is Tuesday February 14th 2017. I’m Greg Doig with today’s WVBI Community Calendar.

Weather Permitting, The Islanders will play their last home game on Tuesday, February 14th at 5pm. Concessions will be Hot dogs/Brats, homemade potato salad (Carol LaFreniere’s famous recipe- it’s the best), and watermelon slices… A little taste of summer in the middle of winter. Come and support our teams!

Friday – No School for the kids ISD Professional Dev day for teachers.

This weekend the Islanders girls and boys basketball teams head to their season topper at Hannahville Indian School for the Northern Lights Leauge Tournament. The order of play is yet to be announced. You can support the team with the Beaver Island Sports Boosters. Interested in seeing a great weekend of high school basketball? Check in with Kerry to see if there is space on the planes for you to tag along. This is your last chance to see this year’s seniors play as Islanders.

Beaver Island EMS is looking for creative artistry from you, the residents of Beaver Island,
We are looking for a new patch for uniforms.
The dimensions need to be within 3 inches in width and no longer than 4-4 1/2 inches in length.
The words Beaver Island EMS, a Star of Life and possibilities making the I, in Island, a Lighthouse, the rest is up to your artistry.
Anyone can participate and offering a monetary prize to the winner.
Drawings can be dropped off at the EMS office, 37830 Kings Highway. Deadline for drawing to be entered is February 24, 2017 and the winner will be announced February 27 here on Beaver Island Forum.

This year’s ice was a bit slow in coming, but the PABI ‘Ice Classic’ buoy is in position and ready to signal the coming of spring to Beaver Island.

library story time for kids – pickleball, games galore and more at the BICC – church services – school sports and township board meetings and more

We’ve tried to include everything, but if we’ve missed your event you can easily add it yourself by using the handy “Post Your Event” button in the upper right of the calendar or by sending an email with the details to¬†<>.
